It’s a normal phenomenon called olfactory fatigue, where your nose desensitizes itself by getting used to the scent. Even if you can’t smell it, those around you still can, so be careful when reapplying.
Tarts retain their aroma for up to two years if stored correctly in a dry, sealed place.
